What is wrong with Roku? I can access it once in awhile, once a week or so and then it’s gone again. My connection is fine and the lights on the Roku 3 device come on, but the tv screen says No Signal. This has been going on for weeks now. Is it the service or my Roku device or my HDMI cable? Help.

I purchased the high end (HD) Roku for accessing GBTV. It has never completely worked.

Once you start viewing the prgram it freezes up. Trying to restart or start over does not seem to work.

We have been unable to watch a complete GBTV program since Glenn started his show.

Even watching a stremed movie the device will not allow the complete movie to be watched without freezing up.

We cannot find anyone at ROKU or GBTV that will help us address the problem.

I am considering returning the device to ROKU for a refund.

Can anyone out there help????

Thank you Annon from 3/15 regarding the cable modem blocking the Roku box. My wife dusted the TV the other day, and set the connecting wire (connecting Roku to TV) on top the Roku box. Today, we watched Roku for the first time since moving the box & cable. Suddenly we couldn’t connect and kept getting booted off due to weak wireless signal strength. Tried everything. Then read the post, moved the cable, and voila! It works again.

I have a Roku2 XD that seems to have an intermittent issue of being able to connect or get a solid connection. Router has been checked out and works just fine. Connection issues only happen when I’m watching a show/movie. What I’m watching will frequently and intermittently have to reload with loading times that get longer and longer. Time of day doesn’t seem to be effecting when this happens. I have reset everything and made sure the Roku player has direct line of sight to the router which is only 2 ft. away. I’m concerned the recover in the Roku player is failing. Normally we have to not only unplug the Roku but we have to shut down the router. why is just unplugging the Roku player not working as its very annoying to have to shut down the router every time we gotta reset the Roku.

Netflix on my Roku XD has been poor quality for the last several months. I made two calls to Roku support and they deny it is their problem. They made several attempts to troubleshoot my player but it only made it worse. The other channels all work fine. I finally fixed the problem myself: $30 for a Chromecast.

I have a Roku 3 in the uk.

The BBC iplayer channel no longer works. As it worked before, it would appear Rokus testing is severely lacking.
Maybe they should investigate www.satisfice.com.
After seeing all of these problems, I am disappointed and may try to sell it and get a wdtv to replace it.
I was under the impression that roku 3 would be an improvement, how wrong I was.

I purchased ROKU at the local Walmart to save on my Comcast bill. Got it home, hooked it up per directions and loved it, for the first 2 days….now I have no sound. I thought perhaps the sound went on my (Coby) tv even though it’s not that old and used very little but just to make sure, I put a dvd in my player and BAM, I have sound. I also do not have sound with the antenna I purchased to get local stations. I spent about 4 hours with tech support online trying everything they suggested, including putting it in another HDMI port and going through the entire setup process again, still no sound. They have no clue other than offering to replace it. I can, and will do at Walmart if I don’t find a fix here.

Bought my dad a Roku LT for Christmas. Since getting it and trying 20 times to watch movies he has only been able to completely watch 3 movies. He keeps getting a message saying “lost connection will try to reconnect” and then a Netflix message that says “service has encountered an internal error try again later”. On several occasions when he gets this message he is able to watch a movie on HBO2Go app. Other times he has tried YouTube and not been able to get it to work. Any thoughts/ideas???

GOT A ROK3 LAST XMAS. WORKED FINE TILL RECENTLY, THEN NO SOUND. TRIED ALL THE USUAL STUFF, UNPLUGING, REBOOT, NOTHING. FINALLY DID A FACTORY RESET. THAT WORKED LAST NITE. TODAY, BACK TO NO SOUND AGAIN! I THINK THIS THING IS A PIECE OFS%#@. CUSTOMER IS A JOKE, LIVE CHAT TAKES 5-10 PER RESPONSE AND THE PERSON TYPING MUST BE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY AS THE SYNTAX IS OFTEN POOR.

I purchased Roku Player XD from Fry’s Electronics, San Jose in March 2011 to watch internet based south asian channels. I have comcast internet connection which delivers 10 MBPS download and 5 MBPS upload consistently. Until about March 24, 2012, everything worked fine; for last 1 week or so, I am getting the annoying message of ‘Loading, please wait… Quality…’ message every 2 minutes. It can’t be my internet as the speedtest shows very good performance. I checked for firmware updates and it reports to be current. I also see the device rebooting very often when it get stuck with ‘Loading, please wait…’ message. I am convinced that the problems is local to the device.

It feels like the device is pre-programmed to start acting so that the consumer can buy newer version after the initial warranty period. If I am going to buy another device to overcome this problem, for sure it will not be Roku.

Does anybody experience similar problem?

Any suggestions for fixing my existing device or alternate good devices?
